As you can see, 2XG has picked up a facelift for the new year. Things still are not completely finalized, but they are perfectly fine for the time being. As you can see, I’ve brought in a new logo for 2XG as well. This logo mirrors the one I did for my other site (tiruSTUDIO), but at the same time has it’s own piece of flair. I may update the logo in the future to have another character than the Blue Monster that tiruSTUDIO has. For now though, this is perfectly fine and I’m happy with it.
I’ve also did an update to the “Actively Playing” image. I meant to update this prior to Christmas/New Year’s since well, the games I was actively playing had changed some. A couple of the games reprise their role on the list, but 3 take up new slots. Other than that, the only other real change is the addition of a Twitter Widget (previous theme had it intergrated, current one didn’t). I am using HL Twitter, and I like it. One thing I do really like is how you can add multiple users if needed, but truthfully – I really only need my account in there since there really isn’t a need to have anyone else spamming the box other than me.
Looking forward – I plan to get so more games thrown into the Gaming section, as well as getting more reviews up (since well, the games currently there are old titles). So going to check with a friend that wanted to write up some reviews, and see if I can get him throwing those my way. If you have any games you’d like to see show up in either section, feel free to tweet me.
Another thing I’ve been thinking about rolling out on 2XG is a Game/Gamer Spotlight. Game wise, it would be easy since the game I would “showcase” would be a game that stands out to me. When it comes to showcasing a Gamer, that would fall to my friends, family and other gamers. And it would definitely take a little more time since I’d write up some questions, email it out to the person in the spotlight and then wait for a reply before I do my final write-up. If I go through with a more Gamer Spotlight ideal, I will prob turn to Twitter for submissions as to why you (the Gamer) feel I should spotlight you. Now I know what your thinking, why would a small website spotlighting a gamer show any incentive for the person being interviewed. Well simply put, there really isn’t much of an incentive for you, other than the personal satisfaction of being recognized.
As this post comes to a close, I would just like to thank the viewers of 2XG that continue to visit the site and partake in the slow updating process. 2012 will hopefully bring 2XG more updates, and more content. Either way, I wish you all a good day and hope 2012 is a good year for you and your families.
I usually keep these style posts on tiruSTUDIO, but I just felt like posting the following here – especially since 2XG hasn’t seen any news for over a month. Between stuff outside of 2XG, and my other projects in the works – I’ve been rather busy so I havn’t had the time to update as much. Either way, I’m sure the following little update will appease some. ![]()
Recently I started getting back into Minecraft, as well as Cinema4D (3D Modeling/Animations) again. And because of such I modeled the “Minecraft Guy”, and then took it a step farther and added another “Minecraft Guy” with my current skin (Jason Voorhees). And since modeling the character wasn’t exactly difficult, I wanted to take it a step farther and make it so the character could be used for animations. So I browsed around for a couple tutorials on adding bones/joints, and went to making the character “animation ready”. Below are the results, so as always enjoy and look forward to future updates from 2XG!

As you’ve seen it has been rather quiet around 2XG. And as the title suggests I’ve been hiding away in Dead Island since release (6 Sept 2011). Well I can’t say that I’ve been there all this time since I did have a mini-vacation with my wife’s family down in Lake George (8 Sept – 11 Sept). And other than that it has been rather uneventful…but back to Dead Island.
It has honestly been a long time since a game has peaked my interest to get me to sit down for more than a couple hours and chug away. But since getting Dead Island on release, it has captivated me and kept me enthralled for 3hrs+ per sitting. As of this writing I’ve pumped almost 30hrs into the game and am sitting around 75% complete (Main Plot). I’m closing in on finishing up Act 3 in the game, and then I’ll be heading to the final portion of the game. At the same time, I’m also 54% through the achievements. Most of what I’m missing is the Co-Op stuff (currently just playing through with Online disabled, well no one can join my game), but I have picked up the achievement already for joining someone’s game.
Either way, I wanted to post a little update on 2XG and figured my Dead Island progress would be the best way since there hasn’t been much going on around 2XG. So enjoy this little news post and look forward to some future updates about Dead Island and 2XG.
