Basic:
1. Make a shape of your choice and fill it with black
2. Layer –> Layer Style –> Blending Options
Settings:
-Drop Shadow: Multiply [Black, opacity 75], Angle 120 [check global lighting], Distance – 5, Spread – 0, Size – 5, Contour – 1, Noise – 0
-Inner Shadow: Multiply [Black, opacity 75], Angle 120 [check global lighting], Distance – 5, Spread – 0, Size – 5, Contour – 1, Noise – 0
-Satin: Multiply [Black, opacity 50], Angle 19 [check global lighting], Distance – 11, Size – 14, Contour – 6 [Invert checked]
-Color Overlay – Normal [White, opacity 100]
-Stroke: Size -1, Position – Outside, Mode – Normal [opacity 100], Fill Type – Color [black]
Optional:
This part is for if you want to make a cut somewhere in the the image. Like removing a piece of metal.
1. Layer –> Duplicate
2. Make a selection of what you want to remove/cut on the new layer
3. Press delete
4. Blur the edges of the piece you just deleted if you want a smooth look
